Representatives from all over the world attended the conference, which consisted of a fifth anniversary gala dinner, one-on-one business meetings, an industry guest speaker and member case studies.
Case study presentations included the movement of one of the world's largest tunnel boring machines by Central Oceans; a geothermal power plant project by Bati Shipping & Trading; the transport of 700 concrete columns for the world's third largest mosque by Alexander Global Logistics; an airport expansion project by Upcargo; and a huge power plant project in Myanmar by CEA Projects.
As well as almost 2,000 individual one-on-one meetings, delegates also took part in an interactive heavy transport session, presented by safety expert Marco van Daal. The session raised awareness on topics that cause the majority of accidents in the heavy transport industry.
PCN's annual award ceremony took place during the event's opening session. The International Member of the Year award was presented toEurope Cargo; the Regional Award for Middle East & Africa went toAfriguide Logistics; the Regional Award for The Americas was presented to Kronoz International; CEA Projects scooped the Regional Award for Asia & Pacific; while Gebrüder Weiss won the Regional Award for Europe; and the President's Award was presented to Alexander Global Logistics.
The event was officially supported by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, while the meeting's official carrier was Thai Airways International.
"Our fifth annual summit was our largest to date - not only has the PCN family grown in numbers, the quality of the companies on board continues to excel," said PCN president and ceo Rachel Humphrey.
PCN's next meeting will be held before the start of Breakbulk Europe exhibition in Antwerp; while the network's 2016 annual summit will take place in Dubai.
