BATI GROUP opens new office in Zakho, Northern Iraq.

Jun 1, 2014 – BATI Shipping and Trading SA today announced the opening of a new office in Zakho, Iraq. BATI’s new Zakho office allows BATI to meet increasing demand for transportation inquires of all type transit cargos coming in Turkish ports of Mersin and Iskenderun for final delivery of Northern Iraq. Turkey is positioning itself to become the best transferring port and distribution hub for the Northern Iraq with Mersin and Iskenderun ports. Dr. Harun Topaloglu, General Manager of Bati Group said: “Northern Iraq is one of the fastest growth market for us.  It shows significant opportunities for Turkish transport companies to invest and support our expansion to complement our global services.” Additional to our Mersin, Iskenderun, Sanliurfa offices new office setup in Zakho, Northern Iraq which located near to the customs border of Ibrahim Khalil, Iraq Gate and opposite of Habur Turkey Gate will be a bridge for all transit carriages. After cargo arrival in Turkish ports BATI will unload from container/vessel and load into truck/lowbed preparing transit documents and customs clearance at Ibrahim Khalil Border Office. Door deliveries to Musul, Erbil, Suleymaniah, Kerkuk as well as Baghdad can be done with even payment collections at cargo release basis at final end.


      Mersin is a large city and a port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. Adana airport is 69 kilometres (43 mil). Mersin port is an international hub for many vessels routing to European countries. Its now operated by PSA.

İskenderun is a city and district in the province of Hatay on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. İskenderun is located on the eastern Mediterranean coast on the Gulf of İskenderun, at the foot of the Nur Mountains (Amanos Mountains). İskenderun is a busy commercial centre and is one of the largest cities in Hatay Province, similar in size to the provincial seat of Antakya. The city is one of Turkey's largest ports on the Mediterranean and an important industrial center for Turkey's largest steelworks.
