BATI project professionals have recently been busy in the Eastern part of Turkey as displayed in the below photos. The Kigi Dam is an under construction rock-filled embankment dam on the Peri River in Bingöl Province. As a clay core rock-filled dam, Kigi has a body volume of 23,000,000m3. Furthermore the Kigi Dam and HEPP has an installed capacity of 180mw in total and is expected to produce 650GWh per year once completed.

For this project, BATI was awarded the contract by the supplier of power machines (OJSC) in Russia. Kaan explains; "The shipment was loaded in St. Petersburg and shipped to Mersin by conventional vessel. A total of 133 pieces were transported including a generator (381.99mt) and some large spare parts of a tube cone. Discharging took 2 days using 14 low-bed trailers & 2 hydraulic axel trucks and 3 members of staff from BATI were present at the port at all times. We arranged special permits to close the roads for the biggest piece and because of the hilly & very narrow passages, the last 50km to the job site took 2 days to complete. The BATI team delivered on another big project with success and proved that narrow gates are easy to pass for the BATI professionals!"
